“On behalf of Bridgelux, I would like to express disappointment in the recent Department of Energy rollback of requirements for energy-efficient bulbs. It is a shame that the U.S. has led in the development of LED technology, but has lagged behind
I often receive questions about how lighting affects health, specifically our Circadian rhythm. In 2014, I took a class at the Lighting Resource Center (LRC) focusing on light and health.
Below are responses to some of the questions that I’m often asked on this topic. If you have questions or comments about lighting, healthcare, or the Circadian rhythm, please leave a comment below. And be sure to check out the resources at the LRC!
There’s been a lot of talk recently about the Internet of Things. And there’s been a lot of talk about greater controllability of lights. But what does it all mean for the LED industry?
For those of us approaching another birthday, it sometimes it feels like it’s getting increasingly difficult to identify items in a store from a distance, distinguish color differences among similar goods in a store, and read price labels or restaurant menu options.

Light is far more complicated than you think. Color, illumination levels, directionality, cost and heat dissipation are just some of the parameters that lighting manufacturers and designers consider when building their products. A lamp for retail is vastly different than a security light for a warehouse. Most consumers and businesses look at light bulbs and see a commodity. Instead, they are really looking at a thousand different engineering and technological choices.
