Technical Marketing Manager

JOB SUMMARY

As a Technical Marketing Manager, you will be a versatile team player in a fast paced environment that is creating a powerful platform to deliver IoT services in the rapidly growing smart building market. As we grow our team, this position will require multi-tasking as well as a vision for building our support team, tools, and systems for future growth. You will be a key member of our team based in our San Francisco office and will report to the Product Marketing Director.

The ideal candidate will have building systems, lighting controls or data network knowledge, have good written and verbal communication skills and be customer focused.  In this position, the successful candidate will work closely with the marketing, engineering, quality and executive teams to provide technical information to our customers. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop deep product knowledge as well as knowledge of interconnecting systems such as lighting, lighting controls and building networks
  • Responsible for managing the creation of data sheets, design guides and application notes working with our marketing and marcomm teams
  • Responsible for receiving and answering technical support calls and emails from customers
  • Responsible for creating customer specific solutions including wiring diagrams and instructions
  • Support our sales team with technical expertise by phone and on customer visits
  • Provide training to customers
  • Minimal travel is expected but required

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to explain technical information to a variety of audiences using visualization skills, verbal skills and written skills
  • 3+ years experience with lighting controls, building systems or data networks in commercial buildings
  • BA or BS degree with strong technical writing skills
  • Ability to work closely with the various company resources including engineering and marketing teams to extract system knowledge
  • Ability to read and explain electrical diagrams and schematics
  • Ability to provide hands-on support to create test-beds for recreating systems typical of customer installations including the ability to use or be trained on basic diagnostic tools

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with software applications used to create and maintain a knowledge base database
  • Experience with communication protocols including Bluetooth, DALI, DMX, BACnet, ZigBee, Ethernet, CoAP
  • Basic CAD skills
