Product Marketing Manager

JOB SUMMARY

As Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for managing the product life cycle of LED products from conception to market release and through end-of-life. This extends from gathering relevant market information and defining new product strategy to increasing the profitability of existing products. You will build products from existing ideas and, and help develop new ideas based on your contacts with customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of technical and business savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing the entire product line lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
  • Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
  • Driving a solution set across development teams (primarily Product Development/Engineering, Manufacturing and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product specifications, and positioning.
  • Developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
  • Work with the Product Marketing team to develop value proposition, product positioning and pricing, target customer definition, and key selling points.
  • Develop product release criteria and manage product launch schedule including early samples, characterization and creation of product specifications and data sheets.
  • Develop standardized collateral, training materials and external facing presentations explaining value proposition, product strategy etc. to be used for customer meetings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • BS in EE or related engineering field, M.S./Ph.D. degree preferred
  • 3+ years of related experience in product management, experience in solid state lighting is a plus
  • Strong motivational or influential skills working with cross-functional technical teams
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills
  • Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus
  • Travel, up to 25%, to support customer and/or partner activities
