Chip Product Engineer/Sr. Chip Product Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

Be part of Bridgelux’s chip engineering team to improve manufacturing performance and reduce manufacturing cost of LED chip products for general illumination applications. This position will be based in Livermore, CA. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with contract manufacturers in Asia and cross functional team within the company to improve performance and cost of existing LED chip products.
  • Design and development of new GaN/Sapphire and GaN/Si blue LED chip products.
  • Evaluate, qualify and implement new process/design changes.
  • Conduct LED chip characterization and testing. Analyze and summarize data using sound statistical methodology.
  • Define and own chip products specification documents.
  • Perform quality and engineering check of LED chip products, resolve issues/claims from customers.
  • Provide engineering support and solve manufacturing problems at contract manufacturers in Asia..

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: M.S. or Ph.D. in engineering areas or equivalent.
  • 3+ years’ direct experience in high volume manufacturing of GaN based LED chip products is preferred.
  • Self-motivated with in-depth knowledge of LED chip fabrication, testing and packaging.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills required.
  • Positive inter-personal skills necessary to support cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent project management skills, ability to manage time and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Fluent speaking and writing of English and Mandarin is required
  • Must be willing to travel internationally
