Senior Reliability Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

This position will support the daily operation of high power LED reliability tests. The individual must be experienced, self-motivated, and “hands-on” to setup, execute, and develop new and existing reliability test processes. This position is located in Xiamen, China.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop the strategy for Reliability test infrastructure
  • Execute Reliability test builds through many new Reliability test processes
  • Define new controlled testing processes with Reliability engineers & technicians
  • Detailed characterization with statistics of test results and generate lifetime prediction models
  • Independently design & develop new Reliability Test Equipment for high power LEDs
  • Write clear reports of test results with data to support conclusions
  • Maintain Reliability test equipment to minimize down test time
  • Communicate & collaborate test results within the Reliability team & across the company
  • Evaluate reliability of the materials, properties & techniques used in production
  • Advise product design engineering on selection, application & test of LED components & systems
  • Recommend design or test methods & statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability
  • Determine reliability requirements of components & systems to achieve company, customer & any governmental agency reliability objectives
  • Develop new acceleration test techniques & analytical tools to assure the early identification of potential problems with new products, packaging, processes, & product reliability
  • Make recommendations for changes in the selection & application of components & systems
  • Propose changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 10 years reliability test experience with device architecture or similar background
  • Masters of Science degree required, PhD degree preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of Reliability test procedures for high power LEDs
  • Rel. laboratory management and operation with relevant experience is a plus
  • Familiar with device inspections, failure analysis and other LED processes
  • LED based color and optics experience is preferred
  • DOE strategy and experience => controlled experiments
  • Materials expertise is a plus (e.g. silicone/ phosphor/ ceramics)
  • LabView programming capability is a plus
  • High level of dedication and commitment to produce good results
  • Good team work and communication skills
  • Self-managed and motivated to complete tasks per schedule
