JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a bright, articulate, team player and technically competent FA Engineer who has a solid background of LED or semiconductor failure analysis techniques. This successful candidate is to perform failure analysis of field return parts with objective to support customer for root cause isolation and drive for prevention activities to minimize the field returns. This role will be responsible for field failure information gathering, failure verification, failure modeling and failure mechanism development to isolate for the root cause.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide administration of incoming customer returns for failure analysis.
- Gather failure data from customer via Sales if failure information is not adequate.
- Perform customer returned defect sample failure analysis with systematic approach to verify the failure, to perform statistical analysis to identify the failure pattern, to characterize the failure to identify behavior of the failure, to use SEM/EDX/Decap/Cross Section to verify failure mechanism, to perform failure simulation to isolate for the root cause, and issue 8D report to customer after the satisfactory of internal review.
- Coordinate Failure Analysis review meeting to ensure to cover product and function concern before 8D report being released to customer via Sale.
- Maintain Customer Failure Analysis and Failure Mechanism knowledge database.
- Perform correlation of field return failure mode with reliability to translate the information to Design For Reliability.
- Monitor warranty cost as a means of LED field reliability performance.
- Customer experience management: Coordinate customer site visits audits as tool for Voice of Customer to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned at any time.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering with an additional minimum 2 years of experience in LED, Semiconductor, disk drive or other directly applicable field.
- Thorough knowledge of problem solving and analytical techniques (SEM/EDX/Descap/Cross section, and chemical analysis etc).
- Experienced with Quality tools (AQP, SPC, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, and Control Plans).
- Direct experience with Six (6) Sigma & Lean manufacturing is a plus.
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis and quantitative problem solving tools using effective root cause identification and fundamental process error correction.
- Experience with corrective actions and preventive action experience resolving customer and supplier problems, containment and process improvement efforts.
- Excellent communications skills, strong verbal, written and presentation skills. Fluent English and Chinese required.
- Able to deal effectively with all levels of personnel; Possess strong interpersonal skills.
