Sr. Director Product Marketing

JOB SUMMARY

As the Senior Director of Product Marketing at Bridgelux, you will be a vital part of our fast growing company. You will be a part of a team of smart successful innovators who are passionate about successfully rolling out products to the LED industry by combining data analysis with proactive market research. You will support the development and launch of new products, drive roadmap development and product portfolio management in support of the company’s strategic and financial plan. The ideal candidate will be confident with data and market analysis, have a solid track record of developing product and technology driven customer relationships, have outstanding project management skills and a proven track record as a product marketer in the high tech industry. In addition you will be responsible for managing the product life cycle of LED products from conception to market release and through end-of-life. This position is located in Livermore, CA and will report to the VP of Marketing and Corporate Development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the VP of Marketing and Corporate Development to establish product marketing strategy, goals and tactics
  • Stay abreast of market trends, competitors and marketing best practices
  • Analyze competitive landscape, products, positioning, go-to-market strategies
  • Build and maintain key customer relationships to aid the development and vetting of new products and technologies as well as strategic sales
  • Identify and exploit market opportunities through new product development. Aggregate technical and functional product requirements into market requirement documents (MRDs)
  • With VP of Marketing and CTO, manage and augment the company’s product roadmap; work closely with engineering to align resources and R&D efforts to roadmap requirements
  • Manage product lifecycle from development through EOL; track and manage product performance by segment and geography, drive portfolio level P&L to company targets
  • Lead key cross-functional roadmap meetings including regular executive reviews
  • Drive new market investigations including market analysis, customer requirements definition, business case development, executive and board level report out

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with advanced marketing education: MBA preferred
  • Minimum eight years of related experience in product management, experience in solid state lighting is a plus
  • Ability to convert technical product ideas, features, functions into simple messages
  • Ability to solicit and synthesize customer and market feedback into actionable recommendations for new products and technologies
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and communication skills (written and verbal), and ability to interact across functions and at all levels of the organization
  • Proven track record of prioritizing and delivering results within a entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to think strategically and solve problems
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally to drive business results in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and influential skills to motivate cross-functional technical teams
  • Strong decision making and project management skills
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills
  • Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus
  • Travel, up to 25%, to support customer and/or partner activities
