Senior SQE & New Product Quality Engineer

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled Supplier and New Product Quality Engineer to develop and implement Bridgelux's supplier quality management program.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for technical sourcing, supplier relationship management, and program management of technical components, subsystems, and systems that are developed with and/or procured from our supply chain.
• Lead and manage cross-functional and CM/JV (as needed) teams to ensure timely achievement of milestones, effective supplier relationship management, and on-time delivery of high quality material goods and services at the lowest possible costs.
• Lead, co-ordinate, and manage supplier business reviews.
• Support, lead, and manage the early involvement of key suppliers in our technology and NPI programs managing the sometimes conflicting technical and business challenges.
• Support, lead, and manage the achievement of all business objectives, including technology and product requirements, cost reductions, product improvements, and problem resolutions.
• Improve existing and implement as necessary effective quality manegement systems at Bridgelux key suppliers to ensure that the purchased products meet Bridgelux quality standards.
• Monitor control and provide adequate support to suppliers to maintain and continuously improve their performance.
• Interface with suppliers for all quality and process issues.
• Develop and monitor quality improvement plans.
• Support new product introduction (arrays, modules, and chips): identify, select and qualify new suppliers/commodities. Work with suppliers to fully characterize the component. Ensure that critical parameters identified and statistical process controls implemented at supplier prior to First Article verification.
• Work with engineering to develop and document procurement, quality and technical specifications that define the critical parameters and product performance requirements - Troubleshoot/resolve manufacturability and quality issues on the procured products.
• Assess supplier capabilities with an emphasis on technology, quality, reliability, responsiveness and cost.
• Manage process changes, exceptions, and corrective/preventive action plans.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on supplier performance to provide key performance information to the management, cross-functional groups and suppliers.
• Lead and perform supplier audits.
• Provide hands-on technical support to IQA, and work with IQA and suppliers to streamline the inspection process.
• Provide technical and management support to Global SQE's.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• 5-10 years experience in supplier management with an emphasis on supplier quality and new product quality. Experienced in new product development and launch.
• Manufacturing engineering experience in multi-layer interconnect technology (PCB, ceramic substrates) and electronic assemblies.
• BS/MS - EE, Materials Science or equivalent - Understanding and ability to implement statistical process control in mfg.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills are required.
• Requires planning and organizational skills in complex technical functions.
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Requires overseas and domestic travel.
