Senior Quality Engineer QMS

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a bright, articulate, technically competent Sr Quality Engineer who has a track record of success and a solid understanding of contemporary quality practices and manufacturing operations to keep us one step ahead of our competitors. The successful candidate will lead the effort to implement Bridgelux’s quality management systems (QMS). Drive continuous improvements into these systems and position Bridgelux to achieve ISO9000 or TS16949 certification. This role will oversee the documentation/change control, calibration and regulatory requirements as well drive the implementation of corporate quality standards and initiatives.
The position requires an individual whose background consists of combined experience in continuous improvement, engineering, operations, quality, etc, to encompass all areas of quality. The ideal candidate will have experience with: TS 16949 and or ISO 9000 implementation and management, Quality systems improvements and PLM implementation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinating and administrating enhancements to Bridgelux’s QMS system including: Analyzing and recommending appropriate changes to ensure compliance as well as continuous improvement; Establishing and maintaining the Internal Audit program inclusive of training internal auditors, scheduling audits, conducting audits, reporting on the results of audits to the management team through Management Reviews, and tracking and following up on audit activities and the results of actions taken; a Ensuring that the processes and systems meet and exceed the requirements of ISO 9001:2000.
• Overseeing the Document and Record Control systems and Change Management Systems.
• Develops and coordinates with IT support a PLM system. Identifies and creates user and functional requirements, supports review of all validation documentation and the implementation of the system.
• Write QMS procedures and policies such as change control, documentation management, BOM and configuration management, etc.
• Participate and support or required lead MRB teams in timely and appropriate rework or disposition of non conforming materials.
• Quality reporting and metrics. Reporting ongoing activities to the Management Team and keeping the company’s continuous improvement efforts on track.
• Establish system to ensure compliance to LED regulatory requirements such as UL, CE, Environmental etc.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned at any time.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Operations or equivalent technical discipline with an additional 5-10 years of experience in a directly applicable field.
• Thorough knowledge of Quality Systems Management. Experience with implementing/managing QMS systems at Asia Supplier’s and CM’s.
• Experience in a Quality engineering role supporting a manufacturing operation in a TS-16949 or ISO 9000 environment.
• American Society for Quality (ASQ) certifications Certified Quality Manager (CQM) and/or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) desirable. At a minimum must attain ASQ Certification within 6-12 months of employment.
• Experienced with Quality tools (AQP, SPC, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, and Control Plans.
• Knowledge and experience with regulatory requirements such as UL, CE, ROHS, WEEE etc.
• Solid understanding of statistical analysis and quantitative problem solving tools using effective root cause identification and fundamental process error correction.
• Experience with corrective actions and preventive action experience resolving customer and supplier problems, containment and process improvement efforts.
• Excellent communications skills, strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
