JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will lead a group of scientists to develop advanced wafer process for GaN LEDs and to explore new materials to enhance the performance of GaN LEDs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the development group to conduct R&D work on new GaN LEDs.
• Develop the R&D strategy for manufacturing process for new GaN LEDs.
• Evaluate new technologies/material to be included in GaN LED structure.
• Support the product development of the device group.
• Evaluate manufacturing options and evaluate partner companies and/or contract manufacturers.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Ph. D or MS in Electrical Engineering, Material science or Physics.
• At least 10 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication and optoelectronics devices. Wafer bonding experience is a plus.
• Thorough understanding of device physics and processes of III-V materials and Si. Deep appreciation of optical design issues of LEDs or VCSELS.
• Familiar with semiconductor characterization tools such as SEM, TEM, SIMS, X-ray diffraction, and stress.
• Familiar with optical characterization tools such as spectrometer, ellipsometer, and surface profilometer. Demonstrated ability in analyzing complex optical measurements.
• Strong communication skills to articulate subtleties and form consensus. Proven ability to resolve difficult problems which may have conflicting priorities.
