JOB SUMMARY
The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for managing the life cycle for one or more company products through conception, market release, market adoption, and eventually obsolescence. This role is responsible for defining the product vision and strategy, gathering and prioritizing relevant market information and requirements, and defining product positioning and pricing. The position of product marketing manager requires close coordination with sales, product development, customer service and manufacturing. The product marketing manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product supports the Company’s overall strategy and goals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Define the product strategy and roadmap.
• Manage the entire product life cycle including strategic planning and tactical activities.
• Deliver market and product requirements with prioritized features and justification.
• Develop monthly and quarterly demand forecasts for new and existing products.
• Act as the primary interface with cross functional development teams.
• Obtain specific knowledge of competitive products and drive product strategy discussions.
• Create a product pricing strategy that supports company objectives.
• Define and manage product launch schedules.
• Act as product Subject Matter Expert in support of sales, developing standardized collateral, training materials and customer focused proposals as required.
• Provide expertise to recommend existing product improvements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• BS in ME, EE or related field. Masters degree preferred.
• Five years of related experience in product management. Experience with lighting products or lighting components preferred. Experience in solid state lighting highly preferred.
• Demonstrated success in developing and launching products.
• Strong decision making and project management skills.
• Proven problem solving abilities.
• Experience working with, and motivating, cross-functional technical teams.
• Strong communication skills both verbal & written.
• Attention to detail and quality focused.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with a positive attitude.
• Ability to travel worldwide as needed.
